Affiche La Roche-sur-Yon - "Place Napoléon"

New product

Place Napoléon is the emblematic heart of La Roche-sur-Yon, a city founded in 1804 by Napoleon I to structure the Vendée region. Designed in a grid pattern, it embodies imperial urban planning and stands out for its vastness and symmetry. Majestic administrative buildings surrounding the square highlight its central role.

Redeveloped in 2013, the square is now a modern and attractive public space. Its main attraction is the mechanical bestiary, a series of articulated animals inspired by Jules Verne’s universe and created by the company La Machine. These creatures, brought to life by visitors, add a playful and poetic touch.

At the center stands the equestrian statue of Napoleon I, restored and enhanced by a reflecting pool. A place for strolls and gatherings, Place Napoléon is a symbol of La Roche-sur-Yon’s dynamism and heritage, blending history with modernity.
